AI Is Coming To Your Office

If you haven’t yet heard about OpenAI and ChatGPT, you will.  AI natural language models are a remarkable and disruptive evolution of AI, and they’re coming to your Office.

Microsoft recently announced a new tool called Microsoft 365 Copilot, which will integrate the power of OpenAI (What ChatGPT is built on) with the Microsoft Graph and the Microsoft 365 apps to turn your words into a powerful productivity tool.

The tool will work alongside you, embedded in the Microsoft 365 apps you use every day, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more, to unleash creativity, unlock productivity, and uplevel skills. Users will be able to give it prompts like “Tell my team how we updated the product strategy,” and it will generate a status update based on the morning’s meetings, emails, and chat threads.

With Copilot, users can be more creative in Word, more analytical in Excel, more expressive in PowerPoint, more productive in Outlook, and more collaborative in Teams. Copilot will fundamentally change how people work with AI and how AI works with people. Among first-to-try developers who are using Copilot already, 88% say they are more productive, 74% say that they can focus on more satisfying work, and 77% say it helps them spend less time searching for information or examples.

Copilot is integrated into the apps millions of people use every day for work and life and is architected to protect tenant, group, and individual data. Microsoft has committed to building Copilot responsibly and moving boldly as they learn. They are testing Copilot with a small group of customers to get feedback and improve their models as they scale, and they will expand to more soon. The tool will be available in the months ahead, and Microsoft will share more on pricing and licensing soon.
